Horizons: Sculptures by Neil Dawson

17:56// One summer adventure we would have (had) fun on would (have) be(en) a day-trip to this sculpture garden. I am sorry I lost my mind during the tempest and became such a pain. I love you. Be well.

An estimated 1 in 5 women and 1 in 16 men are sexually assaulted in college. We all have a role to play in stopping sexual assault. Take the pledge to be part of the solution.

earthstory:

Along the heavily polluted Pasig River in Manila, the Philippines, you will find an innovative 37 metre floating billboard made of chrysopogon zizanioides, more commonly known as vetiver; a perennial grass native to India.

This design which spells out ‘Clean Water Soon’, tries to achieve just that. Vetiver grass can improve water quality by trapping debris, sediment, and particles, and absorbing pollutants such as agrochemicals and heavy metals like lead, arsenic, manganese, and copper.

Of course, this grass cannot completely clean the river. But a little remediation is better than none at all and the words are a gentle reminder to people to be more mindful of water pollution.
